The Drums festival is a cheerful international event that takes place between the 20th till the 27th of April each year in Al Muizz Street, one of the oldest streets in Cairo that has the greatest concentration of medieval architectural treasures in the Islamic world. This festival serves as a dialogue for Peace in which people from all around the world gather to share their traditional arts and musical vision, since arts remain a language and a bridge connecting different cultures
In its 7th edition, the festival this year hosts 22 Arab and foreign countries including Greece, Malaysia, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Poland, China, Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Tunisia and Syria, also Egyptian troupes performing folkloric shows. The festival program will be in several venues as well, including the Opera’s Hanager theatre, Heliopolis, and Citadel’s Beir Youssef Theater
